1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Muana, including Muana.page, the Muana mobile application, public article pages, AI writing and image tools, social publishing tools, subscriptions, credits, support features, and related services (together, the "Service").

By using the Service, you understand that we collect and use information as described below. If you use Muana through Apple, Google, social platforms, app stores, or other third-party services, those services may also process your information under their own privacy policies.

2. Information we collect

Account information. We collect account details such as your name, email address, authentication provider, profile image, public handle, language preference, and account settings. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive information those providers share with us, such as identifiers and email address where available.

Project and content data. We collect the information you create, upload, or generate in Muana, including project names, product links, descriptions, brand tone, AI preferences, prompts, chat messages, strategy documents, media, images, articles, article blocks, excerpts, author names, social posts, schedules, campaigns, calendars, and publishing metadata.

Social account data. If you connect social accounts, we collect connection status, selected platforms, usernames or account labels, provider account IDs, publication settings, post metadata, job status, errors, and related data needed to connect, schedule, publish, sync, and troubleshoot posts.

Purchase and credit data. We collect plan, subscription, purchase, entitlement, credit balance, credit transaction, product ID, renewal, and purchase sync information needed to operate paid plans and credit packs. App store payment details are processed by the applicable app store and payment infrastructure, not directly by Muana.

Device, notification, and usage data. We collect device and app information such as platform, device identifier where provided by the app, Expo push token, notification preferences, timezone, app activity timestamps, diagnostics, and error information. We also collect website and article analytics such as page views, referrers, UTM parameters, link clicks, and approximate usage events.

Support and feedback. If you contact support or send feedback, we collect your messages, related account information, thread status, responses, attachments or context you provide, and timestamps.

3. Information from AI and publishing features

When you ask Muana to generate text, analyze images, generate images, research a project, write an article, create a social post, or prepare content for publication, relevant prompts, uploaded media, project context, generated drafts, and instructions may be sent to AI providers and other processors that help provide the requested feature.

When you publish or schedule content, relevant post text, media, account identifiers, scheduling instructions, and publishing metadata may be sent to social publishing providers and selected social platforms.

4. How we use information

We use information to provide and operate Muana, authenticate users, maintain accounts, generate content, store projects, connect social accounts, publish and schedule posts, host public articles, show analytics, process purchases and credits, send notifications, provide support, improve product quality, prevent abuse, enforce terms, troubleshoot errors, and comply with legal obligations.

We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand usage patterns, improve features, monitor system health, and develop new functionality.

5. Public content

When you publish an article on Muana.page, the article and associated public fields may be visible to anyone. This can include the title, excerpt, body, featured image, author name, public handle, publication date, links, and other content you choose to publish.

Public pages may be indexed by search engines, cached, archived, shared, screenshotted, or copied by others. Removing content from Muana may not remove copies already stored by search engines, social platforms, browsers, or third parties.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service, or as otherwise described in this Policy.

We may share information with hosting and database providers, authentication providers, AI providers, web search providers, image processing providers, social account and publishing providers, analytics providers, push notification providers, app stores, purchase management providers, payment infrastructure, customer support tools, professional advisors, and service providers that process information for us.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, government request, safety need, fraud prevention, security investigation, enforcement of our Terms, or protection of rights, users, third parties, or the Service. If Muana is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

7. Cookies and analytics

Muana.page uses website analytics to understand site traffic and article engagement. Analytics may collect events such as page views, link clicks, referrers, device/browser information, and approximate location derived from network information. The app and website may also use cookies, local storage, device storage, or similar technologies to keep the Service functional and measure usage.

You can adjust cookie, browser, device, app tracking, and notification settings through your browser, operating system, or app settings where available.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain your account, operate purchases and credits, host public content, support users, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Some data may be kept longer in backups, logs, analytics, purchase records, security records, legal records, or records required by app stores, payment providers, social platforms, or law. When retention is no longer needed, we delete, de-identify, or aggregate information where practical.

9. Account deletion and access requests

You can delete your account in the app where account deletion is available. Account deletion removes user-owned projects, project documents, chats, generated content, articles, media, campaigns, social accounts, social posts, schedules, publishing jobs, push data, and article analytics associated with your account, subject to technical limits and retention exceptions described in this Policy.

We may keep limited records after deletion when needed to prevent abuse, preserve purchase history, comply with legal obligations, maintain security, resolve disputes, or prevent a deleted email/provider combination from being automatically linked to a new account. Public or shared copies outside Muana may remain outside our control.

You can request help with account access, deletion, correction, export, or privacy questions through in-app support or at oktra@contact.dev.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or to appeal a privacy request decision.

We will handle privacy requests according to applicable law. We may need to verify your identity and account ownership before fulfilling a request.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials, devices, and connected accounts.

12. International processing

Muana and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Data protection laws may differ between countries. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

13. Children's privacy

Muana is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Muana, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

14. Third-party links and platforms

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, public pages, app stores, social platforms, authentication providers, payment providers, and other services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of third-party services. Review their privacy policies before using them.

15. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app, on the website, or by other reasonable means.

16. Contact

For privacy questions, support requests, or account requests, contact us through the in-app support feature or at oktra@contact.dev.
